Afghanistan's presidential election got underway Saturday, with thousands of individuals flocking to polling stations to cast their vote for the country's next president.
The election will determine president Harmid Karzai's successor. Karazi, who is constitutionally prohibited from serving a third term, is the only leader the Middle Eastern country has seen since the Taliban were ousted from power.
According to the Associated Press, the turnout has been so high that some polling centers ran out of ballots.
