What Beck Did This Weekend That Made Him So Elated: 'Exactly the People That We Have Been Begging For

Glenn Beck spoke at FreePAC Kentucky on Saturday, and raved about the experience on his radio program Monday.

"I met with some candidates -- these are the kinds of people that we have been waiting for," Beck said. "These are the kinds of people that we've been praying for. These are exactly the people that we have been begging for [since] five years ago ... They're here now."

Beck said he has always liked Republican Senate candidate Matt Bevin, who is challenging Sen. Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, but is exponentially more impressed after being able to speak with Bevin in person.

"I spent about 20 minutes talking to him and his wife and his best friend," Beck said. "And I will tell you that I was impressed with Matt Bevin beforehand, [but] I was probably a hundred times more impressed after meeting with him personally. The guy is the real deal. And I really truly believe, called by God."

Beck said he had similar feelings about Sens. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz before they were elected, but he has never "walked away feeling better about somebody than Matt Bevin."

Beck also praised former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino, who is running for Congress in Maryland, saying Bongino gave a "great speech" that highlighted the divide between the "establishment" members of the Republican Party and the grassroots.

As Bongino sees it, there's no reason for candidates who have small government solutions to start a third party. He said the Republican Party was founded on freedom, and those whose beliefs no longer line up should either join the Democrats or start their own party.

"This is our party. This the party of the people," Beck said in describing the speech. "This is the party of antislavery. This is what we were about, freedom ... You guys co-opted it."

Beck said "it only takes 10 percent of a population that knows exactly what they stand for, exactly who they are, and what they believe in" to create change in society.

"That is the tipping point," Beck said. "I think we have about 30 percent of the population, but it only requires 10."
