Ruining your heroes': What you might not have known about this often-praised playwright

Saturdays at 10:00 p.m. ET on TheBlaze TV, Stu Burguiere takes a comedic look at world events on "The Wonderful World of Stu." Burguiere particularly seems to enjoy exposing the dark side of progressive icons, like Woodrow Wilson and Michael Moore.

On the Glenn Beck Program Thursday, the audience got to see a sneak preview of Burguiere's segment "ruining your heroes" set to air Saturday, and it doesn't look good for 20th century playwright George Bernard Shaw.

"Look on social media, and you'll find countless people who have made a hero out of the playwright George Bernard Shaw," Burguiere began. "Why? Because he sure had a lot of cute sayings! Like this one -- 'a happy family is but an earlier heaven.' Adorable. You can tell how much he loves people, can't you?"

The television host proceeded to reveal a number of "cute" artifacts he's had inscribed with lesser-known Shaw quotes.

"Like this," Burguiere said, holding up a pink heart paperweight. "I couldn't find [this quote] on Pinterest, but it says, 'A great many people would have to be put out of existence simply because it wastes other people's time to look after them.'"

Shaw, a Nazi supporter who believed humans should have to "justify their existence," also said: "I appeal to the chemists to discover a humane gas that will kill instantly and painlessly. Deadly, by all means, but humane, not cruel."

Burguiere had that quote inscribed on a pink piggy bank.

"The guy [praised] in our education system, that teachers are telling your kids was a genius?"

Burguiere said. "He's pretty much a fanboy of Hitler."
