Here's What Happened When 'Jesus' Showed Up to an Easter Hockey Game

"Jesus must make his return to the garden for Easter."

Hockey fans were in for a big surprise Easter Sunday when a man dressed as Jesus appeared at TD Garden in Boston, Mass., drawing some major applause and accolades.

The man, who apparently goes by "Thor" on his Twitter account, ended up winning "Fan of the Game" after he appeared on the Jumbotron during the Boston Bruins vs. Detroit Red Wings game.

Donning long hair and traditional garb that aligned him with popular depictions of Jesus, the man garnered a fair bit of attention.

Despite that honor, Bleacher Report noted that it looked as though he was being escorted out at one point.

But as Deadspin reported, the faux Jesus might have simply wandered into a "nicer section" and got caught by security.

In a video posted to Instagram a security guard seemed to laugh off the matter. Boos can be heard, but it's unclear if Jesus is being jeered or if it's the security guard's removal that people are responding to:

And here's another clip:

Before appearing at the game, "Thor" posted a message to his Twitter followers that read, "Who has an extra ticket to the Bruins game on Sunday? Jesus must make his return to the garden for Easter. Please."

His wish was subsequently granted.

This apparently isn't the first time "Thor" has appeared at a Bruins game.
