A Reaction of Pure Joy: The Moment This Man Learned He's Going to Be a Grandpa

Like many a parent, Jessica Hickey's dad has been asking when the grandchildren are coming ever since her wedding day.

Hickey explained on Reddit that she's an only child and her mother died 20 years ago, which makes what she recently presented her father with even more special to him.

Sitting at a restaurant, the man wearing a Chicago Cubs jacket opened a yellow box and chuckled when he saw what was inside.

"Looks like something you used to suck on when you were little," the father said, picking up a baby's pacifier.

"Yeah? You should probably read it," Hickey said.

He did, and proceeded to make the cutest series of faces ever.

"All right!" he said breathlessly after learning he was going to be a grandfather.

Why didn't he get what she was trying to tell him right away? Hickey wrote on Reddit that he said he thought she was making an "old person joke" at first.
