Iowa GOP Senate hopeful Joni Ernst first made national headlines in March with an ad that talked about "castrating hogs."
That 30 second ad received national attention on a broad spectrum of news outlets and late night television shows, and earned the candidate an endorsement from Sarah Palin.

The spot also seems to have helped Ernst separate herself from a crowded field of five Republican candidates vying for the party's nomination. Current polling data shows Ernst either leading or running a very close second to Mark Jacobs.
The winner of the June 3 primary will face off against Democrat Bruce Braley for the seat that Tom Harkin is vacating.
On Sunday, Ernst released a new ad that is likely to get even more attention to her campaign.

The new spot, called "Shot," uses the military veteran's skills with a firearm to highlight her promise to cut wasteful spending in Washington:
