Film Crew Learns the Hard Way Why Not to Take an Inflatable Boat Out to Film Great White Sharks
May 08, 2014
"Is the scariest part when the shark eyes our folks on the boat?"
It might seem like a no brainer that sharks and an inflatable boat would not be a good combination, but a film crew had to learn that lesson the hard way when out filming great whites.
The MaxAnimal videographers had to know what was coming when they saw the shark eyeing the boat. Then, it popped its head out of the water and took a sizable bite into the boat's blue rubber pontoon, shaking its jaw from side-to-side.
Would a wildlife film crew panic in a moment like this? Of course not, they made sure to get the best footage they could.
"Is the scariest part when the shark eyes our folks on the boat? Ah yeah," the crew wrote on YouTube.
Watch the shark encounter:
Despite a bit of deflation in one of the boat's pontoons, the crew was able to safely drive away after the shark took his taste.
The attack occurred last month off the coast of South Africa.
