Every Parent’s Nightmare: Intense Gust of Wind Lifts ‘Bouncy House’ 50 Feet in the Air; Two Young Boys Seriously Injured
May 13, 2014
Horrifying.
An astonishing image captured the horrifying moment that a gust of wind lifted a “bouncy house” 50 feet into the air on Monday afternoon in Glens Falls, New York, leaving two young boys seriously injured. There were three children — ages 5, 6 and 10 — playing inside when it happened, but they fell out when it was about 15 feet off the ground.
The third child, a girl, suffered only minor scrapes and bruises, WNYT-TV reports. One of the young boys landed on a parked car and the other landed on asphalt, according to parents who witnesses the scary incident.

The bouncy house was staked into the ground, but the wind was able to rip it out of the ground and send it sailing across the sky. It eventually landed behind a middle school nearby.
Glens Falls police are not released the names of the victims or their conditions due to their ages, but officials said the boy who landed on the pavement was conscious and talking when emergency personnel arrived.
