The Alleged Story (and Video) Behind This Stunning Photo

"The man on the beach was incredibly lucky."

A sunbather had an alleged close encounter with an aircraft — and the whole thing was apparently caught on camera.

The plane appears to pass mere inches above the startled sunbather, before making a rough landing and slamming through a fence.

According to the caption posted with the video, the plane was being piloted by 52-year-old Juergen Drucker.

The caption quotes Drucker as saying, "I have to say, as the pictures show, that it wasn't one of my greatest achievements in the cockpit," while apologizing for the incident and sayinghe hopes to keep his pilot's license.

The incident apparently took place in northern Germany, on Heligoland island.

The video was uploaded to a YouTube account entitled "BBC NEWS," which appears to not be directly related to the verified BBC News account.

As with many viral videos, it has not been verified at this time. However everyone from the New York Daily News to Buzzfeed has been reporting on it. In fact, according to Buzzfeed, Drucker said he noticed "immediately" the plane was too low and that "The man on the beach was incredibly lucky."
