Outraged Mom Won’t Fly JetBlue Again After This ‘Completely Crazy’ Experience: ‘I Was Pretty Shocked’

"I was so scared. I'm alone with my two kids."

A mom says she was left mortified Monday after a JetBlue flight attendant refused to let her daughter use the restroom before takeoff, ultimately resulting in the young child relieving herself at her seat.

"We were on the tarmac," Jennifer Devereaux told WCVB-TV. "We hadn't taken off yet so I asked the flight attendant if she could quickly use the bathroom. The flight attendant snapped back at me, 'No, sit down.' I sat down immediately. I was pretty shocked."

The mom told the local outlet that she was traveling with her two children for the 30-minute flight. Her 3-year-old daughter Summer couldn't hold it.

The mom says she pleaded with the flight attendant to let her daughter use the restroom, but it was to no avail.

Summer finally couldn't hold it in any longer.

"I didn't have any towels or napkins with me," she said. "No one offered to bring me anything to help clean it up. I took the sweater off my body and soaked up the mess with my clothes."

That's when things got worse. According to Devereaux, the flight attendant then yelled at her and the captain went over the intercom to make an announcement.

'"We have a non-compliant passenger on this flight. We're bringing her back to security,'" she said the captain announced. "I was so scared. I'm alone with my two kids."

An off-duty pilot then intervened, she said, arguing on her behalf with the crew until they reversed their decision and took off.

"They can't treat kids and families like this," she said. "It's completely crazy."

The mother later filed a complaint online. She told WCVB that no one apologized and she was only offered a $50 credit.

In a statement, JetBlue said they are investigating the incident.

"We are aware of the complaint and are actively investigating. Out team will be reaching out directly to the customer to gather more information," the airline said, according to WCVB.

Devereaux said that regardless, she will not fly JetBlue ever again.
