‘Firing Massacre’ on ABC’s ‘The View’: Report

ABC’s “The View” has fired its entire cast with the exception of Whoopi Goldberg, sources tell TMZ. After the departure of Barbara Walters, both Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy are now done on the show.

TMZ reports the hosts were “fired,” though Shepherd said in a statement “it is time for me to move on.”

“I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey,” she added.

McCarthy also confirmed she is leaving the show in a Twitter post on Thursday.

"My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year,” she wrote.

TMZ’s sources say there was a meeting at ABC late Thursday afternoon and it was announced they were getting rid of Shepherd and McCarthy. Walters is apparently scheduled to be on “The View” airing Friday.

"We've also heard but not confirmed executive producer Bill Geddie may not be coming back," the report adds.
