GOP Candidate Calls Global Warming 'a Specter Haunting America, Says It's the 'Greatest Deception in the History of Mankind
June 26, 2014
"A strategy to give more power to the executive branch."
Lenar Whitney, a Republican candidate running to represent Louisiana's sixth district in Congress, didn't hide her stance on global warming from the get go.
In her candidacy announcement, she called global warming a "hoax." Now, she's at it again taking more specific hit at climate change in her first campaign video released Wednesday.
"A specter is haunting America. It is perhaps the greatest deception in the history of mankind," Whitney said of global warming.
She later called it "a scam, " "a ruse," "a strategy to give more power to the executive branch."
"Energy security is real, global warming is not," Whitney said, after noting how she believes allowing the U.S. more freedom in energy production could benefit it economically.
