"She gave some pretty specific information... that no young person ought to have knowledge about.”
A 9-year-old girl was worried that her parents' drugs were making her sick.
So she walked to the police station.
The little girl told police in Barnesville, Minnesota, that her parents were growing, smoking and selling marijuana, the Minneapolis StarTribune reported on Saturday.
The girl said the smell made her feel sick, and that she was worried her dogs would fall ill.
“She was a very brave, very smart, very articulate little girl,” officer Ryan Beattie told the StarTribune. “It was almost like interviewing an adult. She appeared to have intelligence far above a normal little girl … [and] she gave some pretty specific information about things, like types of drug paraphernalia, that no young person ought to have knowledge about.”
When they searched the girl's home last week, police found seven marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia and a substance that field-tested positive as methamphetamine.
Charges are pending lab tests, but for now, the StarTribune reported, the little girl has moved out of her parents' house and is living with her grandparents.
