O'Reilly Issues Dire Warning Following Hobby Lobby Ruling: 'Freedom in America Will Be Compromised Forever

"[The Hobby Lobby case] pitted liberal America against traditional, religious America."

TV host Bill O'Reilly delivered a dire warning Monday night, telling viewers that if one more liberal Supreme Court justice is appointed "freedom in America will be compromised forever."

O'Reilly issued the proclamation while discussing the Supreme Court's 5-4 ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby, a craft store chain, finding that the government cannot force small companies to violate religious conscience and provide certain birth control devices for their employees.

"'Talking Points' is concerned that if one more liberal Supreme Court justice is appointed — one more — freedom in America will be compromised forever," O'Reilly said, taking aim at the justices who sided against the craft supplier.

The host charged Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan with misunderstanding the Constitution in a case that "pitted liberal America against traditional, religious America."

"The very disturbing part of the Supreme Court's opinion is that the four liberal justices apparently believe that American taxpayers should fund abortions," O'Reilly said. "It's hard to believe because religious freedom is the hallmark of the Constitution."

He said that the interpretation held by Gingsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan is "frightening" and warned that religious freedom could be at stake if a fifth liberal justice is eventually added to the high court.

As TheBlaze previously reported, the court decided in Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby that Obamacare cannot be used to require for-profit, closely held companies to provide certain birth control drugs and devices — such as morning after pills — that could cause abortion.
