A video showing a postal worker in Alabama toss packages into a ravine has led to the individuals resignation.
The footage, captured by an onlooker, was filmed Monday in Birmingham and shows the individual parked on the side of the road offloading packages into the ravine.
On Thursday, the unidentified individual portrayed resigned, according to Office of the Inspector General Special Agent Kenneth D. Smith.
"As with any ongoing OIG investigation, I can't comment on specifics," Smith told AL.com. "However, I can confirm the individual in this situation has resigned from the Postal Service as of this afternoon."
It was not immediately clear if charges would be filed against the individual.
At the time of publication, the video had just over 12,000 views on YouTube.
