What an 83-Year-Old Texas Woman Did to a Would-Be Robber Had Him Fleeing the Scene: ‘I Couldn’t See His Face, Just His Eyes…’

"All he was asking about was, 'Where's that money at? Where's that money at?'"

An 83-year-old Texas woman foiled a robbery early Sunday when she fought off the would-be burglar with a stick and pot of boiling sausages.

According to KTRK-TV, Lillie McClendon said the suspect choked her and demanded to know where she kept her money.

"I couldn't see his face, just his eyes like that. All he was asking about was, 'Where's that money at? Where's that money at?'" she said.

The 83-year-old, who had just celebrated her birthday on July Fourth, was not going down without a fight.

"I told him, I said, 'What kind of momma you got that raised you up like this? You oughta be ashamed of yourself,'" Lillie told KTRK.

That's when she sprung into action.

"Oh shoot yeah. I got a stick and tried to hit him," she said. "I had sausage on the stove. I put hot water on him."

The suspect then fled the scene, ultimately escaping, but KTRK reported that he likely sustained some injuries.

"Come in here to rob her, hurt her, harm her, to get something from her that she don't have, shame on you because that's despicable," McClendon's daughter, Anita, told the local ABC affiliate.

The suspect still remains on the loose.
