Witnesses told police they saw the small drone buzz back to a fifth floor room of a hotel two blocks away. Security staff were able to tell police the specific room the drone landed at.

Officers then visited the hotel, knocked on the door and made contact with a man inside.

The individual said he was an Amazon employee staying in the city and said his drone had not hit the Space Needle. He showed them video proof of his footage to verify his story.

After a brief talk, the man told police he would not fly his drone in public areas again while in town.

A few Vine videos showing the drone's actions have managed to survive online.

Some visitors to the Space Needle's observation deck were spotted waving to the drone.

As the drone pulled away from the structure, the camera captured a stunning view of the Seattle skyline.

Returning to the hotel window, the drone's operator can be seen grabbing the four-rotor craft and pulling it back inside.
