This Baseball Team's Spelling Error Is Great News for Fans

In baseball, "errors" can happen on the field, or, as happened Saturday night, they can crop up on the backs of 15,000 fans.

But if those fans are upset, they've got two great consolation prizes: free tickets, or a bundle of cash.

The Colorado Rockies erred in a major way when they printed commemorative giveaway jerseys honoring shortstop Troy Tulowitzki — and forgot the second "t" in his last name.

Fans swarmed social media Saturday to report the mistake.

There was good news for the Rockies, however: they won the game, trouncing the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-1.

The team's mistake is fans' gain: the team said that fans who received misspelled jerseys would be able to exchange them for a corrected jersey, KUSA-TV reported, and upon exchanging their jerseys fans will receive a free ticket to a future game.

The shirts might be worth more than a free ticket, however.

With nearly a week of bidding left to go, one misspelled jersey had already reached $42.99 on eBay Sunday morning.
