Israeli Military Will Hold Fire in Parts of Gaza; Hamas Reportedly Has Not Agreed to Do So

The military says Monday's "humanitarian window" does not apply to areas where troops are still operating.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (TheBlaze/AP) — The Israeli military says it will hold fire for seven hours in parts of the Gaza Strip beginning at 10 a.m. (0700 GMT).

But Hamas has not agreed to the cease-fire, CNN reported, citing a senior spokesman for Hamas who is said to have spoken to Al-Aqsa TV.

The military says Monday's "humanitarian window" does not apply to areas where troops are still operating.

Israel withdrew most of its ground troops from the Gaza Strip on Sunday in an apparent winding down of the nearly monthlong operation against Hamas. But fighting continued in parts of Gaza.

The military said it would respond to any attacks during that time.
