Sean Hannity Issues a Brutal Takedown and a Challenge in Response to a Bit He Didn't Watch

"There are issues that just aren’t funny. Terrorism isn’t funny."

Apparently Stephen Colbert isn't that funny and Sean Hannity literally didn't watch his show.

On Wednesday night, the "Colbert Report" host played the viral video of the redheaded kid who just can't stop saying "apparently" on live TV, and he compared it to Hannity's use of the word "literally" as the Fox News host covered the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

In an interview with TV Newser on Thursday, Hannity responded to Colbert's bit in a combative way.

"First of all, he’s not as funny as Jon Stewart," Hannity said. "Stephen Colbert will have the lowest-rated late night show."

Hannity then said Colbert crossed a line — while admitting he hadn't seen the bit.

"There are issues that just aren’t funny," Hannity said. "Terrorism isn’t funny. I didn’t see the bit. I won’t see it. I don’t care."

He then sort of invited Colbert to visit Israel.

"Maybe Stephen Colbert needs to come over here and get a dose of reality," Hannity said. "He sits in the comfort of his studio, reading jokes written for him by 30 writers. So, I have a challenge for Stephen Colbert: I’ll pay for your flight. I’ll pay for your hotel, your meals. Then you sit on the border. You talk to the people. You sit across from the mother of an Israeli solider who was killed, and then make a joke about it."
