Iconic Actress Lauren Bacall Dies at 89

Actress Lauren Bacall died Tuesday at the age of 89.

"With deep sorrow, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall," a tweet from the Bogart Estate's official Twitter account said.

Bacall married legendary actor Humphrey Bogart and the couple remained together until his death in 1957.

According to TMZ, a family member said the award-winning actress died from a massive stroke in the morning.

Bacall was known for her roles in "Key Largo," "The Big Sleep" and "Dogville." She was awarded an honorary award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in "recognition of her central place in the golden age of motion pictures."
