Black Guest Leaves CNN Host Visibly Baffled After She Asks, ‘Are You Saying Racism Isn’t a Major Problem in This Country?’

A conversation about race on CNN quickly went off the rails when radio host Larry Elder insisted that racism is not a “major problem” in the United States of America.

Declining to response to CNN contributor Marc Lamont Hill’s point about failures to address mental illness within the black community, Elder argued that Democrats exploit black people by playing up racism fears in order to retain the “95 percent monolithic black vote.”

“Are you saying that racism isn’t a major problem in this country?” CNN host Brooke Baldwin asked.

“No! No, it is not!” Elder responded emphatically, leaving Baldwin with a look of confusion on her face.

Elder went on to explain that his father was a janitor born in the “Jim Crow” south who started a business in his 40s. After a lot of hard work and raising his family right, Elder continued, he was able to provide a better future for the future generations of his family.

“We have a thriving black middle class. If black America were a country, Brooke, it would be the 15th wealthiest country in the world, for crying out loud,” he continued. “This is not your grandfather’s America!”

Hill responded by criticizing Elder for ignoring his point about mental illness in the black community, calling it “stunning.”

Both men ultimately found common ground in agreeing that black-on-black crime is a serious issue. Other than that, the two butted heads until Baldwin concluded the segment.
