Police on the Hunt for Group of Palestinian Flag-Waving Men That Attacked Jewish Couple on the Streets of Manhattan
August 27, 2014
They targeted him, police said, because of his yarmulke.
The NYPD is investigating after a Jewish couple was allegedly harassed and assaulted by a group of men waving Palestinian flags on the Upper East Side of Manhattan Monday night, WABC-TV reported
No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning, an NYPD spokesman told TheBlaze.
The five to eight male suspects were described as being of Middle Eastern descent.
According to WABC, the men got into a shouting match with a 27-year-old Jewish man and his 26-year-old wife, pelting the couple with trash.
The wife was struck in the face by a flying water bottle, police said, and the husband was hit in the head before the group of men fled.
The men drove off in two vehicles — a white Cadillac Escalade with New York license plates and a white Nissan Altima with Florida plates — WABC reported, and police said they may have the license plate numbers of the cars.
