Tragedy: Mother and Her Three Sons Among Five Killed in Small Plane Crash, Coroner Says

The Piper PA-46 airplane crashed near the Erie Municipal Airport about 11:50 a.m. Sunday.

ERIE, Colo. (TheBlaze/AP) — Four of the five people killed Sunday in a small plane crash north of Denver have been identified as a woman and her three children, coroner's officials said.

The crash killed 41-year-old Tori Rains-Wedan and her three sons, 15-year-old Mason Wedan and 11-year-old twins, Austin and Hunter, the Boulder Daily Camera reported Monday, citing the Weld County coroner.

Rains-Wedan owned a company that offers education classes to real estate agents, the newspaper reported.

Officials haven't named the pilot killed in the crash.

Grief counselors would be available at the schools the boys attended, Boulder Valley School District spokesman Briggs Gamblin said.

The Piper PA-46 airplane crashed near the Erie Municipal Airport about 11:50 a.m. Sunday, National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Peter Knudson said.
