Time for Some Fury': Buck Sexton Tears Into Obama Admin. After Another American Apparently Beheaded

TheBlaze's Buck Sexton said Tuesday that America must send a strong message to the Islamic State after militants released video of the apparent beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff, just two weeks after releasing a similar video of the execution of James Foley.

America must make it clear that "the next time you do something like this -- and perhaps now is that time -- every military target that we can find in Raqqa, your self-described capital, is going to be blown to smithereens," Sexton said. "Every single one."

Sexton said the response wouldn't require boots on the ground, but that it can't be limited to liberating a village or holding a press conference.

"It used to be that an attack -- the murder of a U.S. ambassador and three other service personnel would be an act of war, and there would be retribution," Sexton said. "Now there's an investigation, a couple of meetings, a summit, maybe an accountability review board. Now we sort of just sit around and think about things."

Sexton said President Obama has been emboldening America's enemies for six years, and our enemies know that "now is their time."

"They are belly-flopping in our embassy pool," Sexton said. "No fear, no nothing. ... How many of the attackers from the night of Benghazi, 2012, how many of them have been brought to justice? One? The rest of them are what, exactly? Wandering around in Benghazi? Probably controlling that city now."

"All of you can see, because they say it so openly, that ISIS disrespects America, thinks we are a paper tiger, thinks if we bleed we will run," he added. "And they have a lot of ground to stand on when it comes to this president!"

Sexton said the Islamic State is beheading Americans "with the explicit promise that the same evil, that same sadism, is coming to our shores -- it's just a matter of when."

"Whether it's on a plane or it's through our border, they're going to come after us. That is the promise that they have made," Sexton said. "They promised to raise up a caliphate. They promised to destroy us. And ... we have an administration that is unable to understand that very basic promise, refuses to understand it."

Sexton said the administration "seems to think that somehow we can talk this thing out, like we're sitting in some faculty lounge somewhere."

"Now it's time for some fury and righteous anger," Sexton said. "Now it is time to take action. The question that remains is -- has the White House, has the president, gotten the message?"
