Atheist comedian Bill Maher reveals something monumentally shocking about Jesus and Religion, but...

It's a well-known fact that comedian Bill Maher is an outspoken atheist who rejects any and all theological inclinations, which is why his latest Funny or Die video spoof is so ironic.

The clip opens with one of Maher's friends discovering him in the midst of prayer. When she questions what the comedian is doing, he tells her he's appealing to God — and reveals that he's secretly a Christian who uses the money he makes money to help fund church ministry (of course, he's joking in the clip to get some laughs).

"Well, everyone in the business knows I play an atheist," Maher said. "This is an act. This is what we do. This is Hollywood, sweetheart."

The comedian, who uses some colorful language, also claims to have had an experience with Jesus as a young person that helped convert him. Again, all jokes being made for the sake of comedic irony.
