Arizona Cardinals Running Back Jonathan Dwyer Arrested for Domestic Violence (UPDATE: Deactivated From Team Activities)

UPDATE — 7:50 p.m. ET: The Arizona Cardinals have deactivated Jonathan Dwyer rom all team activities following his arrest for domestic violence.

Earlier, the Phoenix Police Department confirmed Dwyer had been arrested on aggravated assault charges.

Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested Wednesday for domestic violence, according to reports.

Local sports anchor Tyler Baldwin tweeted the news, citing a source.

CBS Evening News later confirmed it, saying Dwyer was charged with aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911.

A representative for the Arizona Cardinals could not immediately offer any information to TheBlaze.

Dwyer was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010 during the sixth round and played college football at Georgia Tech. He signed with the Cardinals last year.
