While Taking Wedding Pictures Near the Woods, Something ‘Surprised’ the Photographer — and It Resulted in These Amazing Images
September 26, 2014
"...I didn’t expect that we would be able to get so close!"
A photographer "surprised by a herd of deer" that appeared during a wedding photoshoot used the animals to capture a series of stunning pictures.
"I photographed the backyard wedding of Lauren and Erick in Stockton NJ this past weekend. During the dinner, we were surprised by a herd of deer that appeared at the edge of the woods," photographer Ian Christmann wrote in a blog post on his website.

"The bride and groom graciously let me interrupt their meal to see if we could get a photo or two near the deer," he added. "The deer were quite jittery as we approached, so I didn’t expect that we would be able to get so close!"
Christmann later posted the photos to his Facebook page and they quickly found their way to Reddit, sending the images viral.
"A couple of people have asked if it was photoshopped and the answer is 'nope.' It’s a straight out of the camera capture apart from some dodging and burning and coloring in post," Christmann said.
