Legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has died at 82-years-old, a family member confirmed to ABC News Monday night.
The Dominican-born fashion icon, who most recently designed Amal Clooney's wedding dress, had been diagnosed with cancer in 2006. He had, however, said in a recent interview he was "totally clean" of the disease and stressed he would continue to work.

"The only realities in life are that you are born, and that you die," he said in the interview. "We always think we are going to live forever. The dying aspect we will never accept. The one thing about having this kind of warning is how you appreciate every single day of life."
According to ABC, first ladies Jaqueline Kennedy, Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush all donned de La Renta gowns.
