Vandal Sought by Police in Surveillance Video Got Dose of Instant Karma -- Just Watch

"Alcohol may have been a factor, just saying."

Police in California released a home surveillance video showing a vandal in his act of destruction, hoping that it could lead to the man's identity. But the footage also revealed how at least a little justice was already served.

Santa Barbara Police Department's video shows a man running onto a condominium's front stoop where he kicked over and broke a large plant urn. As the urn tumbled though, so did the vandal.

He fell down the front steps and then again on the sidewalk as he was trying to get away.

While the incident happened in August, the police department said it was only just releasing the video in November after a number of other leads were exhausted first.

One of the commenters on the department's Facebook post about the incident offered some thoughts at what might have put the suspect off balance.

"Alcohol may have been a factor, just saying," Jay Hennigan wrote.
