What Ferguson Protesters Allegedly Did to a College Student at a Church Is Horrifying

"NO, he's not working with the police, he is on our side."

The "Justice for Mike Brown" Facebook page, created in honor of the 18-year-old who was fatally shot by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri this August, appeared to make an alarming admission on Friday.

According to the page, a group of "peaceful" protesters who recently met at a church in St. Louis chased a white college student down the street and viciously assaulted him before he was able to reach a Walgreens and call the police.

"For some of yall to just attack him having him running down Chambers St ... scared for his life and he steady screaming crying and flagging down cars asking for help, but he only gets help when he runs inside the Walgreens, that was wrong and F××ked up," a message on the group's page said.

The message speculated that the student, identified as University of Missouri-St. Louis student Chris Schaefer, didn't hear that live-streaming wasn't allowed at the meeting.

"He probably didn't hear or understand and when everybody just rushed him and told to stop live streaming and get the F××k out and then all of sudden he gets jumped and attacked," the message read. "He is a student at UMSL college and he has been out there with us protesting on regular nights. ... NO, he's not working with the police, he is on our side."

The message concluded that it is "making us look bad" to have "peaceful" protesters attacking people.

"He is white but that don't mean to attack him like that!" the message added. "We have supporters of all races!"

At least one commenter chimed in that they were there, and explained that Schaefer was chased out the door before anyone could intervene.

Another added that someone brought Schaefer his phone at the hospital.

A video that appears to be from Schaefer was posted on social media and picked up by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. In the video, seemingly recorded at the hospital, Schaefer said he was not live-streaming anything.

"I got hit pretty badly in many different places," he added. "My head, my hands, my sides, my stomach and my legs. ... I had to get an X-Ray, I had to get a head scan, I think the bill is going to be about $2,000. And that's money that I don't have."

Police told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch they are investigating the incident.
