Husband Proposes to Wife After Finding Her Long-Lost Wedding Ring...but This Proposal Was Probably a Bit Different Than the First Time Around
November 11, 2014
"...and it fits."
For 15 years, a wedding ring was missing, but a recent surprise discovery had one husband making his wife the happiest woman in the world all over again.
YouTube user Lacey Butler wrote that when the ring went missing more than a decade ago, her family searched high and low for it, but ultimately concluded it was lost or stolen. Last month though, her father found a small wooden box that held the precious piece of jewelry.
Instead of just announcing the amazing find, Butler's father thought he would propose to his wife of nearly 38 years again.
The proposal was probably a little different than the first time around though. The setting was a garage and her attire was jeans and an apron. But the question remained the same.
Butler's father was on his knee for more than 10 seconds waiting for his wife to turn around and notice what he was doing. Even when she briefly turned her head and saw him on the ground, the woman went back to her task in the garage, not ready to be distracted until the job was done.
When she finally retrieved what she was looking for and turned around, the woman was stunned.
"Will you marry me?" her husband asked, presenting the long-lost ring.
"Will you?" he repeated as she sunk to the ground and covered her mouth in disbelief.
When she realized what her husband held, she wept and hugged him.
"I can't believe it and it fits," she said.
