Video: MSNBC Reporter's Seriously Blunt Question to Dem Candidate in Senate Runoff
November 13, 2014
"Are you..."
Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) may have been caught off guard when a reporter asked her a seriously blunt question on Thursday about her chances in an upcoming Senate runoff election against her Republican opponent.
“Your leaders are not standing with you today. Are you a lost cause?” MSNBC political correspondent Kasie Hunt asked.
“I don’t believe I am,” Landrieu replied. “Of course I’ve stood against my leadership when I’ve had to, and this is one of those times.”
The reporter’s question wasn’t entirely shocking, even if it was seriously straightforward. Landrieu has seen campaign dollars pulled by the Democrats after the GOP’s sweeping midterm victories and she’s gone against her colleagues on the divisive Keystone XL pipeline.
