Bizarre: Why is this hockey player 'meowing' in his post-game interview?

Humans "meowing" in an interview? It's not new. However, some people find it very funny. It's also called the "meow game" or the "cat game."

The object is to try to slip the word "meow" into a conversation or an interview as many times as possible.

This little bit of silliness has its roots in a 2002 comedy called "Super Troopers":

The game was in full effect the other night with Kalamazoo Wings player Ray Kaunisto.

ESPN.com reports this was not the first time a pro athlete has played the meow game in a live interview. Atlanta Falcons free safety Thomas Decloud successfully played the game in 2012:
