He likely carried your heart away with his lovable character Screech in the sitcom "Saved by the Bell," but actor Dustin Diamond was arrested in Wisconsin on Friday for carrying something else: a concealed weapon. And there appears to be video of the incident.
Diamond was apprehended in Port Washington, just north of Milwaukee, early Friday morning. According to police and WITI-TV, Diamond was at a bar when he got in an altercation with a fellow patron and stabbed him around 11:15 p.m. He then left the bar with his girlfriend.
Diamond, 37, and the woman were located and arrested shortly after. Police found the knife in the vehicle they used to get away, and the actor was arrested.
He appeared in court on Friday afternoon and was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a switchblade knife and second degree recklessly endangering safety (a felony). His bond was set at $10,000.
The criminal complaint says Diamond, who lives in Port Washington, told police he accidentally stabbed a man while defending his fiancee from two men harassing her. His fiancee also faces a disorderly conduct charge.
Reporter Steve Chamraz from WTMJ-TV tweeted out copies of the complaint, which details what Diamond and his girlfriend claimed happened -- including how Diamond initially claimed he only used a pen to defend his girlfriend but eventually admitted he used the knife:
The stabbing victim is recovering at home with non-life threatening injuries.
TMZ published video taken from inside the bar allegedly showing Diamond wielding the knife [CONTENT WARNING FOR LANGUAGE]:
Diamond played the lovable character Samuel "Screech" Powers on the popular sitcom from 1989 to 1993, reports CNN. He also starred in several spin-offs of the show.
