Police Arrest Trapped Couple Who Dialed 911 for Help After They Uncover Two Glaring Clues Related to Their Predicament

The pair told police they were chased onto the campus by unknown suspects.

Amber Campbell and John Arwood had about enough of being trapped for two days inside a closet, so Arwood called 911.

Police said cellphone pings led them to Florida's Daytona State College, which is closed for the holidays, WFTV-TV reported. Police found Arwood, 31, and Campbell, 25, inside a closet in a science building, WESH-TV said.

Getting the couple free was the easy part — what proved more complicated was figuring out how they ended up there to begin with.

The pair told police they were chased onto the campus by unknown suspects, WFTV reported.

But investigators noticed two important clues at the scene that may spell out a different play-by-play:

1. The closet locked from the inside, so the pair could have exited on their own.

2. There was meth odor.

Investigators said Campbell and Arwood were taken to jail on trespassing charges, WFTV said, adding that Campbell was also charged with violation of probation.
