Price Is Right' Contestants Think Apple's iPhone 6 Is Worth This Much

"I hope the marketing people at Apple are watching this."

Americans really do love their iPhones, despite the costs they carry. But how much is too much? You might be surprised.

Like many TV shows do on New Year's Eve, CBS's 'Price is Right' took a look back at 2014 Wednesday:"Today, celebrating our great year on the Price is Right and we are revisiting some of our favorite moments of 2014 so get ready," host Drew Carey said to an audience erupting in applause.

The popular game show introduced a shiny new iPhone 6 as its first item. The first contestant offered her bid, trying to be the one to guess the price the closest to the smartphone's actual retail price without going over the price.

Her bid? $7,500.

The second contestant, after asking Carey what the first contestant's bid was, offered up his estimate: $7,501.

But the next two contestants bid much lower. The third estimated the phone to be worth somewhere around $850 while the fourth and final contestant guessed $930.

Carey appeared to hold back a laugh or two as he looked into the camera:"Man, I hope the marketing people at Apple are watching this," he said jokingly.

The gameshow host then revealed the actual retail price of the iPhone 6, which is $1,969, or $5,531 off from the first bid and $5,532 off from the second bid.
