The very unfortunate mistake during the Oscar nominations you may have missed

It was the poop heard round the world.

Twitter lit up Thursday morning after Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences chief Cheryl Boone Isaacs flubbed cinematographer Dick Pope's name when announcing his Oscar nomination for "Mr. Turner."

She called him — alert your inner child — "Dick Poop," before quickly correcting herself.

Pope, for his part, wasn't too perturbed.

"You know what, I have been called a lot worse in my time," he told USA Today. "I don't think twice about anything like that. I am happy to be nominated."

He said his phone started ringing immediately with the news of his nomination — and name gaffe.

"You don't need to explain it to me. I have had it explained one hundred times," Pope said. "I feel sorry for the lady who made the mispronunciation."
