Based on His Tweet Apparently Targeting 'American Sniper,' We Bet Michael Moore Won't Get Invited to Clint Eastwood's Oscar Party

"My uncle killed by sniper in WW2..."

Is it a coincidence that uber-liberal movie director Michael Moore posted a comment on social media calling snipers "cowards" on the same weekend "American Sniper" dominated ticket sales at movie theaters, breaking several box office records?

Posted mid-Sunday afternoon, Moore's tweet did not mention the movie. However, it did insult snipers — and his use of the term "invaders" appeared to take a swipe at the U.S. military's mission in Afghanistan and Iraq:

"My uncle killed by sniper in WW2," Moore tweeted. "We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse."

As you might imagine, it wasn't long before fans of the late Chris Kyle — the movie's central figure — and the American military responded. TheBlaze TV's Dana Loesch immediately fired back at Moore:

Townhall's Katie Pavlich also saw fit to respond to Moore's statement, posting a flurry of tweets. We offer two that caught our eye:

Pavlich continued:

Among the hundreds of Twitter users who answered Moore's words, one took the opportunity to point out that his "gotcha" form of documentary filmmaking is far from heroic:

Others got a bit more personal:

Conservative author Jonah Goldberg issued this thoughtful decree:

While it isn't clear if Moore has even seen "American Sniper," radio host Mark Levin actually did see the movie and posted a brief review on his Facebook page.

"... last night I saw American Sniper. I strongly encourage you to see it. When the movie was over, everyone in the theater first applauded and then fell silent. You'll be proud, furious, and sad all at once. God bless Chris Kyle and all the precious patriots who've fought these barbarians."
