The famously liberal Rev. Al Sharpton snagged photos with some big-name Republicans on the red carpet at the "Saturday Night Live" 40th anniversary special Sunday evening.

Sharpton later tweeted that he urged Palin to run for president "to help the Democrats out" and that he'd spoken with Trump and Bill O'Reilly to "treat my attackers with candor and a smile."

He added, "They want u bitter."

I saw Sarah Palin on the red carpet and we talked to Xtra together. I urged her to run in 2016 and help the Democrats out.
