INDIANAPOLIS (TheBlaze/AP) — Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota was the fastest quarterback on the field Saturday.

Mariota, the 2014 Heisman Trophy winner, was clocked at 4.52 seconds in his first run and 4.56 in his second at the NFL's annual scouting combine. The 4.52 was the fastest of the quarterbacks.
Jameis Winston, the 2013 Heisman winner and a pocket passer who rarely runs, was clocked in 4.97 and 4.99 on his two runs.
Watch what it would look like if the two quarterbacks had run side-by-side below — the speed differential is stunning:
The fastest offensive lineman Friday was 307-pound Ali Marpet, a Division III player who ran 4.98.
Mariota and Winston will continue their competition Saturday afternoon when the two players vying to go first overall in April's draft are expected to throw.
