Diner Waiter Looks Like a New Man After Generous Customer Offers Him Help for Dental Surgery

"He’s one of those employees you wish you had six of."

Brian Maixner looks like a different man today compared to a few weeks ago, and it's all thanks to a very generous customer.

According to the Wichita Eagle, the Doo-Dah Diner waiter received a tip of sorts that allowed him to get surgery after years of dental issues.

The newspaper reported that Fred Boettcher, an attorney in Ponca City, offered to pay for the surgery, in part, because he also experienced dental issues when he was younger.

"He carried himself with such kindness and confidence with a mouth that looked painful," Boettcher told KWCH-TV of Maixner's demeanor. "I was struck by that."

"He’s one of those employees you wish you had six of," Timirie Shibley, owner of the Doo-Dah Diner, told Today of Maixner. "His whole mission is to please people as quickly as possible and he laughs along the way. He’s a very hard worker."

Maixner had surgery last week, was fitted with dentures and will eventually receive permanent dental implants, the Wichita Eagle reported.

"I’m enjoying the heck out of this," Maixner said, according to the newspaper. "It’s a whole life changer."

"As happy as that fella may be it feels so much better to be able to put a smile on his face," Boettcher added to KWCH.

Boettcher told Today he doesn't know the total cost for Maixner's new smile yet, but guessed it will be between $10,000 to $15,000.
