Air Show Pilots Make a Crucial Mistake — and the Terrifying Ordeal Was Caught on Camera

"[T]raumatized."

Air shows are all about pilots pulling off dangerous stunts and flying oh-so-close to one another — but in this case, pilots made a mistake that could have been deadly.

Two planes, each carrying two pilots, collided in midair during air show practice maneuvers over Malaysia's northern Langkawi island on Sunday, the Associated Press reported.

All four pilots managed to survive the fiery crash, the AP reported.

The midair collision was caught on camera — watch below:

Falling debris damaged a house and a car below, NBC reported, and Malaysia paper the Star reported that a 70-year-old man was 10 feet from his sons' houses when one of the planes crashed into them, leaving the old man physically unharmed but psychologically "traumatized."

The man's sons were not home at the time of the crash and no civilian victims have been reported.

The pilots managed to eject safely and have been hospitalized, the AP reported.

Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein visited them and tweeted: "Thankful that all 4 pilots are safe, their spirits remained high."

The Indonesian team was one of five scheduled to perform at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition between March 17 and 21, NBC noted.

The Indonesian and Malaysian air forces are working together to investigate the crash, the Malaysian Insider reported.
