Will Ferrell Appears on the ‘Late Show’ With David Letterman…and Bill O’Reilly Comes Up

"And I look up, and there's Bill O'Reilly."

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly became the topic of discussion during Tuesday night's episode of the "Late Show With David Letterman."

Actor Will Ferrell, the evening's guest, was recounting his experience at the "Saturday Night Live" 40th anniversary special, when O'Reilly came up.

Ferrell was explaining to Letterman that he had been "rushing" to get ready so he could enter the studio and catch the opening monologue when his eyes gazed up.

"And I look up, and there's Bill O'Reilly," Ferrell recounted. "Everyone is just clapping, and Bill O'Reilly is like this." (See image below.)

"Really? What's the problem?" Letterman asked.

"I don't know. I don't know if he got a wrong seating assignment or something or what. But just a real sourpuss," Ferrell replied.

The conversation continued, focusing on the Fox News host.

"Do you know Bill O'Reilly?" Letterman asked.

"I've never met him," Ferrell answered.

"That's too bad," Letterman said.

"Yeah," Ferrell responded, before jokingly calling him a "real charmer."

"But I don't know what he was doing there if he wasn't a fan of 'Saturday Night Live.' And maybe he was. Maybe he was just a student of comedy. You know. Maybe he was just going, 'That's funny. That's funny.'"
