Actor Takes Heat for Online Rant Calling Out Obama Over Soldier's Funeral: 'Barry Satera Kenya
March 19, 2015
Actor Charlie Sheen criticized President Barack Obama for not attending a “soldier’s funeral,” but finding time to fill out his March Madness brackets in an online rant early Thursday.
But the star is taking some heat for referring to Obama as “Barry Satera Kenya,” seemingly referencing the president’s stepfather’s last name, Soetoro, and part of his family’s country of origin. The link in the tweet includes a picture of Obama making his March Madness picks.

As Mediaite’s Josh Feldman notes, the “funeral Sheen was referring to was likely last week’s funeral for Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Wells.”
It’s true Obama did not make an appearance at the funeral. Attorney General Eric Holder, however, did attend and read a letter from Obama.
Sheen later defended the Kenya “joke” portion of his tweet, reminding readers that Obama himself recently joked about him being born in Kenya.
“Governor Walker got some heat for staying silent when Rudy Giuliani said I don’t love America — which I also think is a problem. Think about it, Scott — if I did not love America, I wouldn’t have moved here from Kenya,” Obama said at a Gridiron Club dinner in Washington on Saturday.
I just repeated a joke the president told last week! https://t.co/FG0k40t4Un So is he bad to?
