The driver was extracted from his car with the Jaws of Life.
A driver was listed in grave condition Saturday after his car was struck by a commuter train near the campus of the University of Southern California.
Authorities told KABC-TV in Los Angeles that 21 people were injured as a result of the crash, which derailed two train cars. The train operator was taken to a hospital in serious condition, the station said.

The driver was extracted from his car with the Jaws of Life, according to Donald Frazeur, Los Angeles Fire Department assistant chief, and taken to a hospital. The driver was trying to make a left turn at an intersection when his car was struck by the train.
