Pat Gray dug up a skeleton in a flower bed at a charity event over the weekend

Glenn Beck's radio co-host Pat Gray was at a charity event over the weekend where he said he worked with around 1,500 other people painting and doing lawn work.

"So my wife and I are digging in the flower bed, and my little spade knocks into something that felt hard, like a rock or something," Gray said on radio Monday. "So I dig around it, pull it out and it is a hip bone attached to a thigh bone. And I'm like, 'OK, that's creepy. ... This isn't human, right?'"

Gray said he and his group decided amongst themselves that the bone had to be from a dog, and they continued working.

"So I start digging again, and I encounter more hard stuff and start digging around it," Gray continued. "Then all of a sudden, I see these four bones poking up like fingers. So I'm absolutely -- it's a hand. And four of the fingers are poking up. The only thing lacking was the thumb."

Gray said he "freaked out," and the site manager called the fire department.

"One of the firefighters came in, like, 'Oh, yeah, that looks bad,'" Gray continued. "He starts digging around it and eventually pulled it up. It turned out to be four ribs that were poking up that were in the shape of a hand, so they weren't actual fingers. It was a ribs."

Mercifully, Gray said, the ribs turned out to be those of a dog, but he had "built a whole scenario" in his head that the woman who lived at the house had "killed some kid and buried it in the flower bed."

"Do you think if she buried someone in the house she might have said, 'Don't, whatever you do, don't dig into that flower bed over there?'" Beck asked.

"Yes," Gray responded with a laugh. "That's why I thought, 'Maybe it's not her. Maybe it's the previous owner.' I had taken that into consideration."
