Scary Moment at PNC Park As Foul Ball Hits Fan Behind Protective Netting in the Head
April 20, 2015
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the fan who was injured by the foul ball."
Monday's game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs was delayed for 23 minutes after a fan behind home plate was hit in the head by a foul ball.
The unidentified fan was standing up behind the protective netting at PNC Park when Cubs shortstop Stalin Castro fouled it directly behind home plate.
The ball struck the woman who fell to the ground. Her condition was not immediately known.
Both teams tweeted that their thoughts and prayers are with the woman tonight.
