Boy's Rendition of National Anthem Was So Amazing That NFL Superstar J.J. Watt Actually Had to Leave His Seat
April 22, 2015
Chills.
Before the Houston Rockets took on the Dallas Mavericks for game two of the opening round of the NBA playoffs on Tuesday, 12-year-old Nicholas Connors stepped up to the mic to sing the national anthem — and he absolutely crushed it.
His rendition was so amazing that Houston Texans star J.J. Watt actually had to leave his seat to give him a hug and congratulate him.
The look on Connors’ face after he realized who had just rushed the court to meet him was priceless.
Watch Connors’ performance below:
Nick singing at game 2 for the Houston Rockets, he has tonsillitis and almost managed to make it through without a squeak, not his best performance but awesome for pushing through! Way to go Nick!

On Wednesday, Watt asked Twitter to help him get in touch with Connors after he “dominated” the national anthem.
Could y'all help me get in contact with Nicholas? He dominated the national anthem last night. https://t.co/bcu48d4kJA

The icing on the cake for Connors and Watt, who are both Rockets fans, is that Houston went on to beat Dallas 111-99 to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
