The Hilarious 'Jeopardy' Answer That Is Taking the Internet By Storm

"I ... panicked."

When a "Jeopardy" contestant found himself faced with a question about the title of religious hymns on Monday evening, he panicked and quickly wrote down a comical response that has sent viral chuckles around the Internet over the past 24 hours.

Host Alex Trebek — who was looking for the answer "Rock of Ages" — asked Choyon Manjrekar of Providence, Rhode Island, and his fellow contestants to name a specific title that is shared by two religious hymns as well as a popular Broadway musical.

Trabek said, "A Christian hymn and a Jewish holiday hymn are both titled this — also the name of a 2009 Tony-nominated musical."

Manjrekar, who said in an interview after the show that he was clueless about the answer, wrote down "What is Kinky Boots?," yielding laughter from the audience when his answer was revealed, Time reported.

He later explained why he chose such a comical response, noting that he knows little about musicals and was nervous.

"A lot of it was the fact that musicals aren't exactly my forte, so when I saw 'Tony winning in 2009,' that's the first thing that came to mind and it was either that or 'Book of Mormon,'" he said, noting that he knew the "Book of Mormon" clearly wasn't Jewish in nature. "I ... panicked, put down something — that's what you've got right there."

Manjrekar continued, "The moral of the story is: bone up on musicals next time."
